What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule and track appointments while ensuring compliance with VA scheduling policies
- Serve as the primary receptionist, coordinating appointment activities across clinics
- Respond to incoming phone calls and address patient and provider inquiries
- Maintain accurate patient demographic information and process community care consults
- Collaborate with medical providers regarding VA Community Care rules and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
- Proficiency in written and spoken English with a typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable VA background investigation and PIV credential
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a healthcare or medical environment
- Familiarity with VA systems such as HSRM, PPMS, VistA, and CPRS
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
