  Position Summary

  The (Remote) Sr. Compensation Specialist will work closely with the Regional Head of Total Rewards for Straumann Group North America to develop and maintain a Total Rewards program that reflects the value that Straumann Group employees bring to the organization while ensuring the program is competitive in relation to the external market.

  The Sr. Compensation Specialist will be the subject matter expert on Straumann compensation programs to the Straumann HR and Business community. The individual in this role must be willing to roll up their sleeves to provide strategic and tactical contributions to the Straumann community.

  Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary compensation partner and provide consultative advice on compensation-related matters for Straumann’s North American business units.
  • Manage the market pricing activities for North America that include the following:
    • Conduct job evaluations.
    • Confirm job matches and benchmark jobs to external market data using salary surveys.
    • Provide recommendations for base salary levels, appropriate grade assignment, total compensation opportunity
    • Ensure compensation recommendations are market competitive and maintain internal pay equity.
  • Lead the annual compensation review planning activities and provide training to HRBPs and managers
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws in the US and provincial rules and regulations in Canada.
  • Lead US FLSA exemption reviews and collaborate with the legal team, HRBPs, and managers on assessing jobs.
  • Partner with the Head of Total Rewards and the recruiting team on the development and execution of executive job offers.

  • Oversee the administration of our nonqualified deferred compensation programs
  • Collaborate in the development and execution of a communication strategy to educate HRBPs and managers on Straumann’s compensation practices and philosophy
  • Partners closely with HR colleagues, Straumann vendors, and IT to ensure that systems are effectively meeting the needs of the HR team and organizations
  • Participate in global compensation projects as needed
  • Up to 10%-15% of domestic and international travel

  Work Environment & Physical Attributes:

  • General office environment.
  • Hybrid work model is preferred.

  Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
  • 7+ years of compensation experience with knowledge of job-leveling methodology and approach
  • 7+ years of experience working with DOL, FLSA, and US Federal & State laws and regulations.
  • 7+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Compensation Professional Certification, such as CCP or GRP.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Finance
  • Knowledge of Mercer’s International Position Evaluation methodology.
  • Experience with other salary survey tools, such as Willis Towers Watson, Radford, etc.
  • Global compensation experience with an emphasis on an understanding of the Canadian compensation market.
  • Knowledge of sales compensation practices.
  • Familiarity with equity compensation programs and plans.
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills, with the ability to influence internal and external decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors as well as SAP HRIS
