What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead and grow a team of senior and principal engineers focused on distributed storage systems
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for storage platforms, balancing innovation and delivery velocity
- Oversee system design and architecture reviews to ensure high availability and scalability
- Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical priorities
- Manage project execution, including scoping, resourcing, and on-time delivery of major initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in an engineering management role
- Proven track record of managing backend or infrastructure teams that shipped large-scale distributed systems
- Strong technical foundation in system design and high-availability architectures
- Experience overseeing storage system development or operations, including parallel filesystems and object storage systems
- Familiarity with management and orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes or similar resource managers
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Direct experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments or scientific computing workloads
- Previous contributions to or knowledge of open-source storage projects like Ceph or Lustre
- Background in cloud-native storage or hybrid cloud architectures
- Experience scaling teams through organizational growth or restructuring
- Hands-on expertise in performance optimization of petabyte-scale storage systems
