What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide telephone support and resource information to Warm Line callers
- Refer crisis calls to appropriate crisis services using a 3-way calling feature
- Complete required documentation for all calls received during shifts
- Communicate any concerns or situations to on-call Warm Line support staff
- Maintain effective attendance and participate in required meetings and training sessions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must identify as a Peer and have an agency phone and laptop
- Demonstrated interest in providing telephone support and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with callers and staff
- Availability to attend all required training sessions
- Willingness to work a minimum of one shift per week after completing training
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a peer support role or similar position in mental health services
- Familiarity with community resources for mental health support
- Ability to demonstrate effective listening skills and diplomacy in challenging situations
