What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct concurrent reviews of medical records to ensure accurate documentation by physicians
- Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and query physicians for clarification
- Collaborate with physicians and coders to ensure documentation reflects the patient's severity of illness
- Provide ongoing education to the patient care team regarding high-quality documentation practices
- Ensure adherence to official ICD-10-CM coding guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Florida, or Advanced Medical Practitioner, or International Medical Diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida required, or Advanced Medical Practitioner, or International Medical Diploma
- Experience in Utilization Management, Case Management, Quality Improvement, or Inpatient Coding preferred
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) preferred
