      Recruitment and Retention Specialist

      The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro is accepting applications for the full-time position of Recruitment and Retention Specialist.

      General Duties:
      The Recruitment and Retention Specialist reports to the Vice President of Student Services and is responsible for spearheading recruitment and retention initiatives for the Student Services Office, including growing enrollment.

      Specific Duties:
      Leads recruitment efforts through high school visits, college and career fairs, Open House, and other events.
      Fosters positive and cooperative relationships with high school counselors in our service area by (1) maintaining open and consistent communication channels, (2) making regular high school visits to promote our programs, and (3) hosting an annual counselors’ luncheon.
      Creates and conducts engaging presentations to large groups to market the college and its programs.
      Drives the CTE bus to various events to showcase the technology and programs offered.
      Assists in organizing summer camp opportunities to increase students’ awareness of STEM and manufacturing fields.
      Manages dual enrollment/dual credit recruitment processes.
      Collaborates with marketing staff to create program brochures and other marketing materials.
      Coordinates the purchase of promotional items for recruiting and other events.
      Organizes NC3 Signing Day for high school students who have committed to attending TCAT Murfreesboro.
      Coordinates community outreach events to promote TCAT Murfreesboro to the broader public.
      Plans, organizes, and hosts Ready to Walk Week activities every trimester.
      Serves on Student Success Committee to plan student events on campus that support retention.
      Reviews and disseminates withdrawal data to determine if additional student supports could improve persistence.
      Maintains a working knowledge of institutional and federal policies as well as COE accreditation standards as they apply to student services (e.g. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VI, Title IX).
      Prioritizes projects, attending to multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting institutional and departmental deadlines.
      Communicates professionally and tactfully with all members of the campus community. Fosters collegial relationships within and outside the department.
      Performs other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to optimize peak work periods.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
      Proficiency in MS Office suite.
      Experience with recruiting and event planning.
      Must be able to pass a background check.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
      At least two years of full-time work experience in higher education.
      Experience with Banner student information system.

      Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.

      Ability to foster collegial relationships within and outside the department.
      Supportive and client-centered approach to student services, especially when assisting students with developmental, emotional, physical, or learning differences.

      Physical Requirements:
      Ability to lift 20 lbs. or more and set up display table at recruiting events.
      Ability to drive CTE bus and travel to recruiting sites within the service area.
      Ability to give tours of TCAT Murfreesboro campuses.
      Ability to give presentations as part of the recruiting process.

      Salary Range:
      The Recruitment and Retention Specialist position is an exempt staff position with an annual salary of $44,000-$52,000 based on education and experience, according to guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
